Public Schools Branch Board of Trustees Approve Name of the new East Royalty School

*Students join Public Schools Branch Staff and Trustees to announce the name of 'Green Gables Elementary"*

The Board of Trustees approved the proposed name, "Green Gables Elementary", for the new school in Charlottetown's East Royalty area next to the current L.M. Montgomery Elementary. Green Gables Elementary will accommodate 650 Grade 4 to 6 students once it opens (anticipated in 2028).

Public Schools Branch Board of Trustees Approve 2027-2028 Capital Budget Submission

The Board of Trustees approved the 2027-2028 Capital Budget for submission to the Minister, Education and Early Years. The Capital Budget, prepared by the Public Schools Branch and approved by the Board of Trustees, identified 13 projects that focus on student and staff safety, accommodation of enrolment growth, preservation of buildings, transportation sustainability, and long-term operational resilience.
