About the PSB

The Public Schools Branch (PSB) represents all 56 of the Island’s English language public schools. The PSB’s approximately 4,000 employees work together to serve more than 20,000 students from kindergarten through Grade 12. 

Governed by a Board of Directors, the PSB is administered by branch-based staff operating from various sites across the province, including its Branch offices in Stratford and Summerside. The Branch’s responsibilities are outlined in Section 20 (2) of the Education Act.

The PSB was officially proclaimed as the school authority on August 20, 2016. Previously, it was known as the English Language School Board.
